Brad Snowden joined The Village at Orchard Ridge as Philanthropy Director in January 2019. Snowden brings nearly 20 years of experience in estate planning as a practicing attorney and for the last 16 years has advanced the philanthropic mission of two higher education institutions. Most recently, Snowden was Director of Leadership Gifts at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia leading the major giving effort for its $25M Invest for Impact capital campaign that raised $4.8M annual gifts and closed $26M in legacy gifts during its last fiscal year. Previously, he spent nearly 15 years supporting the mission of Shenandoah University where he was instrumental in the successful completion of its $65M Spirit of Shenandoah campaign as well as the campaign for construction of its state-of-the-art Health & Life Science Building and Shenandoah Conservatory’s All Steinway piano initiative.
Snowden is an active member of, and serves on the board of, the Tri-State Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, is a past president and former member of the Clarke County Rotary, a current member of the Sunrise Rotary Club of Martinsburg, West Virginia, a member of the National Capital Gift Planning Council, and is former Co-Chair of the Virginia Fund Raising Institute.
Brad holds a B.S. in Political Science from Shepherd College (now Shepherd University) and a Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio.
